A floral bitters elixir for digestive support, liver support and aiding better body system functions:::
Bitterness as both a taste and herbal action stimulates our digestive systems – particularly our livers which are responsible for over 500 functions! And since our digestion is ruled by our Parasympathetic Nervous System, which governs the body’s Rest and Repair functions, this bitter flavour sends a message to the body: that you have time to relax, to slow down, to receive nourishment and feel embodied through our gut. Over time, Bitters work tonically on our bodies because they stimulate our liver which is responsible for so many functions including the processing of hormones, notably those used in times of stress. A well functioning liver clears these hormones from our bloodstream so that we cease physically responding to stress once the stressor is gone, as well as improving our digestion so that we can better assimilate and absorb the nutrients from our food. Thus improving the resilience and function of our bodies as a whole, including our nervous systems which has a marked influence on our mental health. The floral bitterness of added Chamomile hydrosol offers additional digestive support and blends beautifully with the strong bitterness of Chicory roots, gratefully dug up from deep within damp soil. All mixed with some local, raw wildflower honey and crafted on the Full Moon, I trust that you too will fall in love with this under-appreciated and vital taste through such root and flower magic.

Recommended Use: Take a dropperful directly on tongue 30 mins before or after a meal to aid digestion, to relieve a cramping, sore belly, or take daily as part of your morning/evening healthcare routine.

Caution if pregnant: Chicory can be supportive in pregnancy, but avoid large doses. Consult a clinical herbalist and if in doubt, wait until postpartum when they will be of immense grounding support.

  • What is Mutual Aid? Who am I "paying forward" to?

In our attempt to make plant medicines more accessible for all, Seed Medicine Garden sends regular free medicine donations to communities as needs arise. In the past this has included Indigenous activists, youth leaders and trans youth, as well as homeless single mothers, refugees and members of the disabled community.

When you "pay forward" 1 or 2 products, you will still receive one (or selected quantity) of your chosen medicine as well as donating the credit for 1 or 2 products to go towards our herbal mutual aid projects.

There seems to be an increasing call for plant support through these times and we are continually seeking pathways to those who need it most. Please contact us: connect@seedmedicine.garden if you or a community you know is without financial means but needing herbal care.
